Original and innovative work, including typology of Roman amphorae, originating from the Lower Danube area of the 1st - 3rd centuries AD. This work distinguishes and broadly describes 36 types of amphorae. We should mention the following from among unquestionable achievements of the author: taking advantage of physical and chemical analyses in order to establish the composition of pottery and amphorae manufacturing centres, with consideration given to discoveries found in ancient sunken shipwrecks in order to determine the dates of some amphorae manufacturing.
