Your right to withdraw (EU consumers)
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason.
How to withdraw. Tell us before the 14 days are up — an e-mail to archeobooks@archeobooks.com is enough. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but you don't have to; any clear statement works.
Returning the books. Send the books back within 14 days of telling us. The address is:

You pay the return postage. We recommend a tracked or registered service — until the parcel reaches us it is at your risk. You may open the parcel and inspect the book as you would in a bookshop; you are only liable for any loss in value caused by handling beyond that.
Refunds. We refund within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice — including the standard outbound delivery cost you paid. (If you chose a more expensive delivery method than our cheapest standard option, we refund the standard rate.) We may hold the refund until the books arrive back, or until you show proof of dispatch, whichever is earlier. We refund using the same payment method you used, at no cost to you.
Books do not lose this right by being on sale, by being second-hand, or by having been taken out of their wrapping. Any statement to the contrary elsewhere on this site is void.
Faulty, damaged or wrongly described books
Separately from the 14-day withdrawal right, you have a statutory two-year guarantee of conformity (EU Directive 2019/771). If a book arrives damaged, is not what was described, or turns out to differ materially from our condition grading, contact us with a photograph and we will repair the situation: replacement where possible, otherwise a full refund including both delivery costs. This applies to antiquarian books too — our condition grading is a promise, and if we get it wrong, that's on us.
Institutional and non-consumer orders
The 14-day withdrawal right is a consumer right and does not apply to purchases made by libraries, universities, museums, dealers and other businesses. In practice we are flexible: if a title turns out to be a duplicate of something already in your collection, write to us — we normally take it back within 30 days in resaleable condition.
Complaints and dispute resolution
Write to archeobooks@archeobooks.com first — we answer every complaint within 14 days and almost everything gets solved there.
If we cannot agree, EU consumers may use out-of-court dispute resolution. In Poland the competent bodies are the Wojewódzki Inspektorat Inspekcji Handlowej and the network of municipal and district consumer ombudsmen (rzecznicy konsumentów); consumers in other EU countries can contact their local European Consumer Centre (eccnet.eu).
