Enter your order number and the e-mail address you used at checkout to see where your books are. If you have the tracking number from your shipping confirmation e-mail, you can enter that instead.
How soon do we dispatch?
We pack and hand over orders Monday to Friday. Over the last twelve months, half of all orders left us within two days of being placed, and 87% within five days.
Titles we do not hold on our own shelves — out-of-print, antiquarian and specially sourced books — are a different case. We obtain them from other suppliers, which occasionally takes several weeks. If your order contains such a title we will write to you with an expected date; you will never be left guessing.
What the tracking will and will not show
Nearly all our shipments travel as registered mail with Poczta Polska, or as a parcel with DPD. Registered international mail is scanned when it leaves Poland and again when it is handed over to the postal service in the destination country. Between those two scans there is often a gap of several days with no new events. This is normal and does not mean the parcel is lost.
Once the destination-country post takes over, further scans depend on that operator. Some — Deutsche Post, La Poste, Japan Post — report in detail. Others report only the final delivery.
When should you contact us?
Please give the post a fair chance before worrying. Counting from the date of dispatch, not the date of the order, get in touch if your books have not arrived after:
- Poland — 10 working days
- Europe — 20 working days
- Outside Europe — 40 working days
Before writing, it is worth checking with your post office, mailroom or neighbours: registered items that cannot be handed over are often held for collection without a notice card reaching the addressee.
If a shipment is genuinely lost we will replace it where the title is still available, or refund it. Please contact us within 90 days of dispatch so that we can still open a claim with the carrier.
Several parcels for one order
Multi-volume sets, heavy runs of periodicals and orders combining shelf stock with specially sourced titles may be split across more than one parcel, sent on different days, each with its own tracking number. If you have received part of your order and are missing the rest, please check your e-mail for a second shipping confirmation before contacting us.
Customs and import charges
We ship from Kraków, Poland, inside the European Union.
- Within the EU — no customs formalities and no import charges. The price you paid is the price you pay.
- Outside the EU (including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Canada, Japan, Australia) — your shipment carries a customs declaration listing printed books and their value. Import duty on books is zero or very low in most countries, but local VAT, import tax and a customs handling fee may still be charged by the postal service or courier on delivery. These charges are set by your own authorities, are not collected by us, and are the responsibility of the recipient.
- United States — shipping is temporarily suspended following the changes to U.S. de minimis import rules.
Institutions with customs exemption or their own broker: tell us before dispatch and we will prepare the documentation accordingly.
Libraries, museums and institutional buyers
If you order against a purchase order, please give us the PO number when you place the order or by e-mail immediately afterwards. We will quote it on the packing list, on the invoice and in our correspondence, so that your acquisitions and accounts departments can match parcel, invoice and payment.
On request, and at no charge, we provide: a pro-forma invoice before payment, an itemised packing list enclosed with the shipment, a commercial invoice with our VAT number and full bank details including IBAN and SWIFT, and written confirmation of delivery for your acquisition records.
