1. Who we are
These terms govern the sale of goods through www.archeobooks.com by Studio Panopticum, ul. Zawiła 44L, 30-390 Kraków, Poland (REGON 357738611, VAT PL6761456550), trading as Archeobooks ("we", "us").
"You" means the person or institution buying from us. A consumer is a natural person buying for purposes outside their trade or profession.
2. Our books
We sell new academic and scholarly books, and second-hand, out-of-print and antiquarian books. Every listing states the condition.
Antiquarian and second-hand books are unique items sold as historical objects; signs of age described in the listing are not defects. If our description is wrong or incomplete, section 6 applies.
Photographs are of the actual copy wherever the listing says so; otherwise they show the edition.
3. Orders and contract
Prices are shown in US dollars. Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract is concluded when we send you an order confirmation. If a title turns out to be unavailable — which can happen with single antiquarian copies — we tell you within 2 working days and refund you in full.
We may refuse an order where the item is no longer available, where the price or description contained an obvious error, or where we cannot lawfully ship to your destination.
4. Prices, VAT and customs
See Shipping & Payment for VAT treatment and delivery costs. For deliveries outside the EU you are the importer of record and any duty or local tax is payable by you.
5. Delivery
We dispatch within 3 working days. Delivery times given on the site are estimates from the postal operators. Risk passes to you — or, if you are a consumer, when you (or someone you nominate) take physical possession of the books.
If your parcel has not arrived within 30 days of dispatch, tell us and we will trace it and either resend or refund.
6. Withdrawal, returns and the statutory guarantee
See Returns & Refunds, which forms part of these terms: a 14-day right of withdrawal for EU consumers, and a two-year statutory guarantee of conformity. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.
7. Newsletter
Subscription is voluntary and confirmed by e-mail (double opt-in). You can unsubscribe from any message.
8. Intellectual property
The layout, texts and photographs on this site belong to us or to our suppliers. You may quote and link to us freely with attribution; systematic copying of our catalogue data or images requires our written permission.
9. Liability
We are liable for damage we cause by failing to perform the contract, on the terms provided by Polish law. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for intentional damage, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — and we do not limit any consumer rights. For non-consumer buyers, our liability for any order is limited to the value of that order.
We do not guarantee that the website will always be available or free of errors.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms for future orders. The version applying to your purchase is the one published when you place your order. We keep an archive and will send you the applicable version on request.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer resident in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of your own country, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.
Before going to court, please write to us — see Returns & Refunds, "Complaints and dispute resolution".
